Functional Responsibilities

The Engineering Technician/Technologist provides for hands-on aircraft experience from the T&E phase of System Engineering to disposal. The support includes, but is not limited to ECP development, report analysis, installation, and disposal.

Labor Qualifications

A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in Naval Aviation maintenance including hands-on avionics, electronics/electrical systems and other aircraft systems. Naval Aviation maintenance school (or one (1) year of electronic technology training) is required. The resume must clearly delineate two (2) years recent and relevant experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Aircraft maintenance
  • ECP development for aircraft components and subsystems
  • Trouble shooting/failure analysis
  • APMPASS/NALDA report analysis
  • Performance monitoring
  • Avionics installation

To qualify under the technologist part of this category, a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience providing engineering support on Naval Aviation programs. An Associate’s Degree in engineering, physics or technical. equivalent is required. Four (4) or more years of directly related engineering experience in system and subsystem support may be substituted for the Associate’s Degree.
